Connecticut REC Program Summer Institute

Overview:
The Connecticut REC Summer Institute is a dynamic, week-long training summit designed to empower and connect Event Partners, Coaches, Mentors, and Volunteers working with REC Foundation programs across all age groups (K–12) and platforms, including VEX IQ, VEX V5, and Aerial Drones. This multi-platform, hands-on program builds both foundational and advanced skills in team development, event planning, mentor support, and technical areas such as coding, building, design, and engineering notebook documentation. Participants will engage in practical training, collaborate with peers and experienced leaders, and leave equipped to launch, grow, or strengthen REC programs at any grade level.
Program Goals:

Build capacity among Event Partners to host high-quality competitions.

Equip Coaches and Mentors with tools and resources for sustainable team success.

Provide technical training in coding, building, and engineering notebooks.

Promote statewide networking and collaboration to support REC growth.

Event Setup Experience (Friday): A full-scale, behind-the-scenes REC event build and teardown

This summer institute serves as a launchpad for strengthening Connecticut’s REC Foundation ecosystem—bringing together veteran leaders and new educators alike to collaborate, grow, and prepare for the upcoming season.
